Alexey Myakishev was born in 1971 in Kirov. Lives in Moscow. Twice winner of the InterFoto documentary photography festival, winner of Best Of Russia 2012. The first solo exhibition was held in 2000 at the University of Oldenburg, Germany. As a photojournalist, he collaborated with Kommersant, Russian Newsweek, Lenta.ru and other Russian and foreign publications.
The favorite topic of Alexei Myakishev is Russian provincial life, village weekdays and holidays, priests and pilgrims. But from time to time he likes to take pictures of city life on the streets of Moscow. Alexey’s look is not quite ordinary, not urbanistic - that’s why it’s interesting.
